When ANC Youth League President Julius Malema addressed the National Press Club in Pretoria, following the heckling and booing of SACP delegates at Polokwane, he confirmed that this conduct was an invitation to war which the ANCYL was accepting.
Fair enough.
Those who had confused Malema’s reception by the SACP with that of a politician being rejected by an audience on account of his lifestyle and conduct towards their leaders were deemed — by me — to be unfortunately misguided, doomed never to lead a political party and unworthy of entering our rich culture of debate.
After all why would the delegates at a communist rally have a problem with a comrade who leads the calls for nationalisation and socialism but lives like a full-blown capitalist?
Absurd — must be a personality problem or just total disrespect.
What’s more Malema emerged from the recent ANCYL NEC sounding a dire warning to ANC leaders who dared to defy the league’s policy positions which was primarily to follow a path of seeking support for the nationalising of mines and the establishment of a state mining company to control the country’s mineral resources prior to the ANC’s policy and elective conferences in 2012.
His rallying call being something along the lines of Madiba (former president Nelson Mandela) having fought for freedom, our war is being waged over economic freedom without which the masses could never be truly free … or something like that.
Perhaps he was thinking along the lines of another famous Julius :
“Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.”
After all if President Jacob Zuma could use references to Jesus (the quote is attributed to Christ) then why not bring in the other chap mentioned in the saying? Which means once you’ve given everything belonging to Zuma to the president the rest — surely — must belong to Julius Malema, not Caesar because he’s already had his share.
But don’t discount the Jesus reference either because like Christ who turned water into wine Malema has turned a R20 000 a month salary into :
(our thanks to IOL and Times Live)
Before we catch any of you sniggering we believe that he was guided by The Communist Manifesto and the new weekly “What your Well-Dressed Socialist is Wearing this Winter”.
Notwithstanding Malema has made it his life’s work to drive for economic equality. That all should be equal under the sun (remember to use a sunblock factor of at least 50) and nobody favoured above anybody else.
That is why — please don’t write in to thank me Mr Malema — I am calling for his assets to be nationalised and the proceeds to be distributed as part of our efforts on service delivery.
It’s my birthday present to him.

Hehe!
Jellybaby’s stupidity was to stick his head regularly into the political area while simultaneously following his mission for mercs and mansions.
Had he been clever about amassing wealth he would have kept himself in the shadows, rather like Fana Hlongwane and Sandi Majali.
I read that on Sowetan Online, his reaches or rather wealth I mean, and Man was I shoocked.
Or maybe I should not be that shcoked considering it was Malema.
I just wonder how he sleeps at night knowing that there are millions of kinds from his Limpopo province who would die to go to school but can’t because they cannot afford to – for reasons we alreay know of – and Malema has not bothered sponsoring any of them.
I presume SARS will institute a lifestyle audit on Jube Jube stat! Pride comes before the fall – every time! Over confidence is a recipe for disaster – as you sow you reap! No doubt he will have a whole heap of rubbish excuses and justifications – waiting with baited breath!
Lifestyle Audit now!
There is a rumour going round that a mining company is sponsoring him so that they can get their heavily polluting mine nationalised before they are fined and forced to pay for remediation of the land and water sources affected.
Yes, lifestyle audit only to be treated like Toni Yengeni and the travel scandalists. One set of rules for the ANC, another for the rest of us.
Viva nationalisation of Malema’s wealth viva!
One for all and all for one – the desperately poor in Limpopo would be so grateful
Nice one Traps!
I get extremely worried when everyone starts playing the man. Have any of you read the detailed policy document of the ANC Youth League on nationalisation of the mines? Have any of you stopped to think whether our mineral resources could be better used, than enriching fat cats and foreigners? Maybe, just maybe, this man has a valid point to make? If 70 % of South Africans are under the age of 35 I suggest that we start listening to our youth. They are the future. Or would you rather trust struggle heroes with dubious pasts and secret handshakes?
FF+ is now on to him that he be investigated as to how dare he could afford to by all of that will a salary of 20 000 pm.
He mentioned yesterday on SA fm that ANC pays him well and more than what was reported. I just wonder how much that was.
Isn’t he supposed to pay tax, or it’s just u and me here in SA doing that?
Considering that Malema thinks that the sun shines out of his own arse, a sunblock factor of 50 may be totally inadequate.
How dare you question Jewelius’ lifestyle? After all, he’s on record as saying that there is nothing wrong with a flashy lifestyle “if you can afford it”
Oh, wait a minute. R20K a month. Assets of what, R6million or more… Um, my calculator just blew a fuse. It’s now displaying a flashing message in red: “Does not compute.” “Does not compute.”
But then, perhaps he’s just taking after the chief, who also has an unenviable record when it comes to running his personal finances. “Does not compute” in that case either.
Oh dear.
Still – perhaps SARS will actually carry out a lifestyle audit on Jewelius – I’d just love that.
As they say,”The best Capitalist…is an ex-Communist” !!
It takes a lot of money to out do Bokassa, Kagema, Kabila, Sese Seko, Amin, Rawlings, and Mugabe in one go.
Just look at Juju as a part of China’s investment scheme for Africa…
I don’t believe SARS will investigate Malema. One word from Zuma and they will look the other way.
That was the reason the Scorpians were disbanded – the ANC were tired of having their dealings srutinized by an independant body.
What work does Malema do to justify a salary of R20 000 pm?
I believe Malema’s call for the nationalization of mining is just a way of securing his future when the shrinking tax-base is unable to support his lifestyle.
Definitely, there must be a SARS lifestyle audit without further delay. Of course they may not find anything untoward or shady. If they did, they might be in danger of bringing the whole house of sodom down. Zuma could also use an audit, but I am not holding my breath.
Seems Zuma has trained him well – and the ANC seem to feel that hypocrisy is a requirement for being President:

Good on you…
he took a leaf out of Winnie’s,Shaiks and Jacobs book. Get everything for free and insist that it was a loan.
@Carl Wille. Your comment inspired me to try and find out some hard facts. The ANCYL’s website – http://www.ancyouthleague.org – is quite revealing. I could not find any policy statement about nationalisation, and the Vision and Values consisted of three bullet points. Interestingly, the section on HIV/Aids, the single most important health issue facing the majority of our young people, consisted of a blank page. To be fair, much of the website was blank or was not working properly, which is also revealing. We certainly know Julius ain’t getting the R20K for managing the site!
Hey, you, permanent whining numbnuts !
If it’s not Malema who’s living this luxury life, then who should it be?
Another white Chief Executive of Vodacom (Knott-Cr……..). I hope not !
There is no chance we will see the nationalization of mines. This new momentum is preparing for the shifting of some mining assets from one set of hands into another. In the process the state may be saddled with underperforming mining assests and any other duds that the new mine bosses do not fancy.
Indeed, as JZ has said, Julius is a good leader in the making, though he was thinking ‘taking’.
Mini Mu(gabe)- That is how I think I shall now refer to him! Lets all sing the Corruption song together! I cannot wait to hear the denials about how he got the tenders legitimately!!! The drivel spewed will be awesome to behold!
I mean lets consider-What are his qualifications- Consider those and it actually leaves you wondering how he hasn’t gotten more tenders…hahahahaha. My only thing that I am unsure of is- Is he a member of our gov or not? ANCYL is a separate party body- totally separate? If that is so HOW is he getting state sponsored security??? And why have the opposition parties let that go?( That is if he still receiving it- wasn’t it to the tune of R300 000?)
Sing along the Corruption song!!!
I do love SA- but Gov is looking more hateful, corrupt and racist by the day!
Last thought is- now that Mini Mu has profited from BEE – surely its now time that he falls away and is no longer considered viable as he has profited handsomely and now it should be someone else turn? IE- spread the wealth instead of having it in the hands of the few?
“lets see Mr Malema- u head an Engineering company- u have a matric- hmmm u didn’t do very well…Ok lets give you a couple Mill tender and see how you go!”- LOL
What 3 bedroomed house is luxurious anywhere Michael 3 bedrooms is minimum living sir. we dont know what kind of cars you drive michael. Maybe you could tell us how much his underwear was!
Where did he get the money- from his companies of course . he is a director of 4 companies hard at work. During apartheid what black man got a govt tender= ZERO. I much prefer the tender money to go to Malema and he does the job or any other indigenous company than go to de beers or some such.
The black companies are not getting a fair go in the private sector- I am sure one of the pseudoanalysts here will tell us all about it.
The corruption in the private sector is amazing black companies dont stand a chance anywhere unless its just window dressing.
Now malema gets a few contracts and he is the devil. If these contracts were given to a white firm it would be ok. No let Malema do his thing he is a businessman with connection.he has not stolen anything he has not asked for a bribe.
When a black man starts showing signs of coming out of your shadows you always want to bring him down- well try to bring down Zuma and Malema and you got your match there. You guys will fight black empowerment till the sahara becomes a rain forest but Malema enjoys the attention you give him and will always get contracts
The Commissioner
SARS
Johannesburg.
Sir
Further to a comment by Minister Gordhan during his Budget address earlier this week, I hereby formally lodge a request that an urgent investigation into the affairs of one Julius Malema be instituted with immediate effect.
You will forgive my anonymity given the “sensitivity” of this issue.
I would imagine that the number of ‘whistle blowers’ inundating your good offices would make a crowd at Moses Mabhida blowing their vuvuzela’s seem like childsplay.
Yours faithfully
tzME
That is the effect of the hungry and parcel bribed ,ignorent voters.
They will never see the light, at the end of the dark tunnel.
Long live poverty, sponsored by ignorence long live famine.
Why was the scorpions disbanded ? ofcourse to let the thugs free.
If Tony Yengeni has accounted for using his political influence in bussiness to self enrich, which was described as corruption, what different does this make to free juju Dolly Malema.
There is no racism about this let us held the corrupted thugs into account like everyone for the benefit of our citizens.
Politicians without morals are a shame to our country, If sbu ndebele sent back the merc donated by gurus in question ,why cant juju be investigated and face music if need be?
Viva lifestyle audit viva …!
Siphiwo – in answer to your question – no one in South Africa should be living a crass, ostentatious, in your face, materialistic life style. This need to flaunt wealth and riches further inflames the pain and suffering of the poor and disenfranchised and is simply insensitive and unwise. No, we don’t want everyone to live in a shack and survive on takings from rubbish dumps – and no, we don’t want all children to be in ill equipped schools. We don’t want all people in badly run hospitals. What would be optimal is if everyone lived in a reasonably comfortable, clean, healthy environment where children went to well equipped schools and were taught by teachers of integrity and where we could all go to well run and staffed hospitals and clinics…. Let’s strive towards clean drinking water for all, at least one healthy meal per day and simple things like working toilets and ablutions for all households. It’s an ideal we will not achieve in the next twelve months but it is nonetheless this ideal towards which every South African should strive. Certainly we will never come anywhere close to the ideal if crass greed and sickening self indulgence continue. It’s possible – even probable – that we are witnessing the fall of yet another civilization at the hands of rampant greed and wholesale debauchery – that’s more or less how the others went down.
Haiwa Tigere – three bedrooms is not excessive – it’s the price that is rather excessive – and bought for cash!! He’s in his twenties!
Siphiwo when will you get it?
It doesnt matter if they are black or white its if they are robbing the country or not. Black and white deserve the same treatment if they caught doing shady things.
Bring on the lifestyle audits for all politicians and lets throw siphiwo in there as well.
If he is ok turning a blind eye then he must be up to no good.
In effect ‘haiwa tigere’, you are saying that you want two, not very good, ANC leaders, to get everything the entire white population used to share in the days when that white population could afford to employ maids, nannies and gardeners, which gave a huge number of the presently unemployed, jobs. We don’t mind; we now do our own washing and ironing; have aftercare at schools and plant indigenous gardens. But we also have permanent security to keep the nasties out (job creation).
Our point is only that your ANC leaders are doing nothing worthwhile to increase jobs. Mine nationalisation? We’ll see how long the mines stay open and for how long our people have clean water to drink…you want to nationalise mines, you get all that poisonous water as well. Lucky ANC! You can’t even keep the Eskoms and Transnets running efficiently; take on more challenges…
I doubt that Malema really wants nationalisation. However, he was probably surprised that his call for nationalisation was so opposed by all the other sleazy fat-cats in the Alliance.
Let’s not forget that Julius is anything but alone in his corrupt hypocrisy.
Julius Caesar was stabbed in the back by Cassius, Brutus and Company. Julius Malema should think of that and should read some Greek to learn that: “Hubris inevitably leads to Nemesis”…and if he does not understand (and I bet he does not), it means ” Oh Julius your insolent and arrogant pride inevitably will lead to your downfall.”
We all hope he falls hard.
Derek James
I’m not entirely sure we can properly compare the hugely intelligent, wily old Mugabe with Melema – Mugabe has seven ACADEMIC degrees and a few honorary awards. The former is unfortunately usually way ahead of the pack – it’s almost impossible to unnerve him politically. That said, both men are utterly self centred chauvinists living cras materialistic lives at the expense of their abjectly poor electorate. So perhaps Mini Mu is fine – or what about Mini Mug and Maxi Mug?
Oh! dear dear, could you not leave the man alone – his lifestyle is purely a reaction to our colonial past when the ‘white’ guys took all the goodies for free. He and his friends are not to blame, its all you colonial types who write this tripe, if he was white you would not pick on him so! After all why should he ‘struggle’ to live on R20K a month, he works hard and creates jobs and wealth for…….well us to criticise.
Why would you audit a lifestyle of a private person? What sort of democracy is this. Whoever has a case against Malema must lay a charge at the police station and inform SARS. These are the only organisations that have a right to probe people’s lifestyles, not the anti-Malema mob. If we are to pepertuate this culture of abusing private citizens, can we also see the houses of the members of opposition parties, especialy our white compatriots who seem to be left out of the need for lifestyle audit. Let’s see their houses and cars splashed out in the tabloids’ pages.
I see a pattern. The Europhiles judge Malema by a silly Eurocentric moral code. But this is Africa where generally whoever is in charge can do whatever he likes while at the top. And enjoys the support of his mates, regardless of how dodgy his dealings. See how Malema supporter point to other “crooks” like Knott Craig and the apartheid system for justification of some “sharp practice” to rake in a bit of loot. If they can do it, we can do it.
So rant on, nowt will happen to Julius as long has he remains in favour and has sycophantic support. It seems to be passed off by those supporters as the African way. Europhiles voetsak.
Sipho – Malema is not a private person he is what we call a public figure.
A very high profile public figure who is calling for major economic changes to this country.
In Zim Mugabe also nationalised everything and gave it to his cronies his masses are starving.
Therefore our masses need to know is this for Mugabe style feathering of his own nest or genuinely for the benefit of the masses?
Looking at his conduct what do you think?
@Rose Morrow
Dont you think when we nationalise the mines we will achieve what you are envisaging?Imagine if profits of these mines go straight to our revenue instead of some few fat cats. The state will have sufficient revenue to spread to the building of decent houses, well equiped schools, better quality roads, more health care, free education, etc.
The Northern Cape provincial budget was R7 billion rand in the current financial year.On the other hand the budget for procurement of goods of the mines operating in the Northern Cape was R10 billion rand combined. Now imagine the income of these mines collectively including their profits.Given the 1, 089,000 plus population in the Northern Cape, that amount can afford to accomodate service delivery aspects of our province.
Pierre De Vos writes that the ANC probably want their new mines nationalised because they have found mining not so easy as they thought and are making losses in the recession.
So nationalising could just be a way of bailing out mines running at a loss.
@Michael Trapido,I supposed when I cross your path one day, you’ll call me a public figure sothat my lifestyle can be audited.
