Kashiefa Ajam and Candice Bailey — writing for IOL — confirmed that: “Jo’burg shock jock Phat Joe could become the most high-profile casualty of the Caster Semenya saga. As one of the highest-paid radio DJs in the country, Phat Joe, whose real name is Majota Khambule, was suspended by Kaya FM for asking on air whether Semenya had testicles instead of testes and whether she had ever had a period. Yesterday, as rumours flew that he had been fired, radio bosses played for time.”

At worst, what Phat Joe said at the time may be construed as distasteful; I iterate — at worst.

Certainly, nothing that can compare to lying to the country and causing an international incident.

Accordingly, Khaya FM will be responding to a nothing-hysteria occasioned by Chuene and ASA will be ignoring an international implosion brought about by the same man.

Both responses are pathetic and inappropriate.
