Ndumiso.... you absolutely rock the blogoshere!!!

As a wannabe blogger, I've been "loering" vicariously and voyeuristically into some of the local offerings and have been frankly disappointed.

The M&G Thought Leader is without doubt the most user friendly site, but all the gravitas around the ANC Polokwane palaver and Llewellyn Kriel's grosse point blank shootout with Sowetan management is riveting stuff, but where was the edge? - More importantly I need visceral laughter at being crazy enough to live here!

As a honky Piemburger, I sat on my stoep last night, clutching my Klippies and Coke, as self medication against a rising panic attack. Across in the Edendale valley, JZ vuvuzela's wailed like demented hippos and thunderflashes boomed - intertwined with the sinister crack of R5 and AK47's being discharged, as the Polokwane results filtered through ..... bringing back memories of those dark days of '89 during the IFP/ANC ethnic cleansing debacle that devastated the KZN midlands.

So between my scrabbling for my passport and ancestral visa documents, I came across your hysterically inspired pieces on the Polokwane polka and wonder why Ferial doesn't purge some of those dreary uber-earnest PC columnists that now populate M&G editorial pages. The loss of Kirby, Eaton and Kristjan Lemmer has made the M&G into a fine, but dull as dishwater read. The lack of levity has caused me to eschew my hitherto favourite Friday tabloid.

Imagine yourself, Sarah Britten, Fred Khumalo, and David Bullard with weekly columns in the M&G - I might well cancel my one way ticket to Ireland and my subscription to the Sunday Times

Inspired stuff Ndumza (PE talk)

Thanks for some oxygen in the midst of some toxic fumes opinions flying around.

I am a 'hear no evil, see no evil' fan of Mbeki. I love and applaud everything he stands for, but I read your piece, and I saw where you were coming from. Dankie

So guys, what makes us think that Zuma (or any of his newly elected gang) is going to be any different from Messrs Ngoyama et al?
Will JZ "walk the walk"? Will he have the b@lls to make AND ENFORCE the tough decisions needed on matters of CEE (Crime, Education, Employment creation)?

I'm not sure if we wouldn't be better off if at least half the politicians were bull-dogs. Take into consideration when we elect you next time round

"Afterwards, I conducted a snap survey among the media personnel. Ninety-seven percent said they’d rather have spent those 45 minutes being given a pineapple enema than listening to Smuts talk."
