In my opinion, Panjo should be given to a nearby zoo. People who are that irresponsible with a wild animal don’t deserve to keep him. Panjo should be looked after by people who know how, and because he was raised in captivity, releasing him into the wild would mean an almost certain death for Panjo. People can’t treat a wild animal like a pet, because they’re not pets, THEY’RE WILD ANIMALS

Jokes aside… it was very irresponsible and illegal for that fernandes guy to transport a wild animal for such a long distance :

– without a permit.
– without a properly secured transport contraption.
– without warning his fellow motorists what he was carrying. Imagine an accident scene with a scared tiger.

and one against the media for calling a 145kg tiger a “cat”

You could imagine the brouhaha if this animal was being transported by poor me mandla, and believe me any farmer would have shot the tiger for a trophy. I am not even sure what is the education of this Fernandez guy, whether he has an idea of what he is doing.

Is it not time we had a feel-good story? All’s well that ends well and all that. I just happen to be a Tiger freak ….I happen to believe that a tiger is one of Natures most awesome and THE most beautiful creations. To the ‘owner’ of Panjo…(hey wena! we all own him now!) I should in fact be upset with you… but at the same time… I envy you. Take care of Panjo … Please. I’m a little concerned tho’..a mate perhaps? I know they’re loners in the wild … but you’ve made him part of a family! And keep him away from some of the folk in the far east please?.. some have a penchant for particular body parts a la Rhino Horn?

That animal should be in the wild. I know he was hand reared from a cub and can’t fend for himself now, but it should not have been allowed in the first place. Wild animals belong in the wild! Preferably Asia in a tigers case!

so happy Panjo was found well and alive, no harm done to anyone either. So all can now relax and get back to normal, but a bit of excitement in the day was lekker. Now for all the people moaning about permits and wasted tax money, please !!
