Admittedly the economic disparity in South Africa is divisive and inappropriate, but that is the reason for jealously and resentment but the main reason for the hatred and desperation is the government of South Africa has failed to ensure the masses have the basic essentials, food, clothing a sturdy shelter, health care and education. There is no excuse why after 14 years of driving the demons of apartheid, the masses have not received the bare essentials while the tax revenues are being squandered on leaders who have failed to care for the masses, researchers who have failed to deliver an AIDS vaccine or to translate their research that would alleviate poverty, government funded business that have failed to create jobs for the masses and law enforcement that has failed to curb crime. As far as foreigners are concerned, they need to realize that all their good intentions will die in South Africa and they will be the scapegoats of the problems in South Africa that they did not create. South Africa is a great country with breath taking natural beauty and most of the people are decent friendly ones but the few that are hostile, insecure and mean can really make your life miserable. My advice to foreigners who want to be treated as good human beings should be treated is, if you have opportunities to find greener pastures elsewhere, please do so and take your good intentions and your talents elsewhere. Let South Africa get its act together. It has overthrown the brutal white supremacist apartheid government and it is capable of eliminating the skeletons and ghosts of apartheid, overcoming AIDS, poverty and prejudice, but it will take time. This will pass and South Africa will once again rise to the moral high ground of leaders like Mandela, Tutu and Tambo. That is when you can consider going back to South Africa.

The government accept responsibility for the mess?

You have to be kidding, right?

Hell would freeze over before you'd get a mea culpa from the ruling regime large enough for any ministerial head to roll.
