The Ku Klux Klan is coming! Let’s pretend we give a crap

There was a piece of graffiti in Johannesburg sometime during the 1980s. A cynical artist wrote the word “Izit” across a slogan that read: “The AWB is coming”. Much as I would like to, I cannot convey that same sentiment in this brief post, but… the Ku Klux Klan are coming!

Actually, that might have been insensitive; it would have been damn funny, though, if these people were not so dangerous. White supremacists in the United States are licking their chops at the prospect of a black president. They consider the presumptive presidency of Barack Obama as the clearest sign yet that they are “losing” their country to black people. The bigots and anti-Semites seem to believe that a President Obama would bring white people in the US to their senses, and some of them hope, set off a race war which they seem convinced would end in white victory.

Parenthetically, in my personal discussions with some (white) people in the US — some of whom have all their lives been Democrats, or at least “socially liberal” — the idea of a black person named Barack Obama as president was reason enough to vote for the white candidate, John McCain. They are, of course, less toxic than the bigots on the right.

On his website, the white supremacist, and former Ku Klux Klan leader, David Duke writes, “Obama is like that new big dark spot on your arm that finally sends you to the doctor for some real medicine.”

The election of Obama, Duke explains, was the pain that lets the human body know that “something is dreadfully wrong” and that there was “a real cancer eating away at the heart of [the US]” – something a Republican aspirin cannot cure, but can merely mask.

“My bet is that whether Obama wins or loses come November, millions of European Americans will inevitably react with a new awareness of their heritage and the need to defend and advance it. Obama’s winning the Democratic nomination will usher in a new age of racially conscious American politics. The minorities have long had this consciousness. They have been voting in blocs for decades. Now it is our turn.

“The Obama nomination draws the lines of racial demarcation in America. He helps make everything very clear to our people. He paves the way for thousands of other candidates on the American horizon, white candidates who stand up for our own people the way that Obama stands up for his,” Duke writes.

So, should we shake in our socks, or should we ignore them. My personal view is that a single presidency is insufficient to turn around the Titanic vessel that is the United States. Yes, I did kind of mix a metaphor… but you get the point.

I would like to think that your headline and opening paragraph are not an attempt to keep the local racial cauldron bubbling in the absence of any recent overt white racism in South Africa.

You say …… “Yes, I did kind of mix a metaphor… but you get the point.”

Well, actaully, I did not get the point, simply because there is no point. The KKK is not representative of broader white america. If you think otherwise you are either ill informed or move in a very closed circle and are easily influenced.

  2. Well, the KKK is not representative of broader white America in the same sense that the AWB is not representative of the broader white South Africa. It is a fitting comparison in terms of numbers, although proportionally America has about as many blacks as we have whites.

What is alarming is that the ANCYL might be representative of the broader South Africa. Think of the Fikileisms like ‘it looks like Bombay’ (speaking of a KZN university campus), think of calls to ‘Kill’ counter-revolutionary forces (nominally those who oppose the Fuhrer of the Third Force, Zuma). Think of criticisms of the DA as a ‘white party’. This shows that we have a long way to go before we can decide between shaking in our socks and shrugging off extremist sloganeering as freedom of speech.

You are right. The ANCYL and their adult counterparts are much more dangerous than minority groups like the KKK or the AWB.

That’s a bit of an unfair comment. To think that American racists, particularly those in the South, of which South Carolina is a primary example, will not weigh-in heavily in this election is rather absurd.

Tone down your paranoia – the ANCYL might be boisterous, but they are hardly ‘dangerous’. It’d be best not to confuse democratic fervour and passionate speeches with the advocacy of a race-war and all the other associate anti-democratic vices of the KKK and AWB

The KKK and the AWB are nutty fringe MINORITIES!

And I am dead serious. All this hero worship of a totally flawed character by a majority is dangerous – not only for democracy, but also for CORRUPTION! We have not hundreds but thousands of corrupt officials.

To weed them out needs a leader who is incorruptable, or this country will go BANKRUPT. Never mind the morality of it!

    Precisely

In The USA the white supremacists are a small portion of the whites who represent an overwhelming majority as regards African Americans.

In The RSA the black supremacists are a small portion (hopefully) of blacks who represent an overwhelming majority as regards European Africans (aka whites). In this context the “hopefully” is of critical importance.

Sadly the only point I got was that the writer must be a racist – why else would one put such a fringe racial slant on a potential american president?

Also why wish the USA to sink – what do you wish to fill its place in the world order – China?

Please write and article on what you think would be good to replace the American Titanic.

Democracy rests on the principle that people can vote – even for an opposition party – without the fear of being killed for some imaginary revolution.

You don’t suppose that the ZANU-PF has a democratic fervour? They say the same thing that the ANCYL are saying, namely they will kill those who oppose their revolution.

    Ja luds,

The ANCYL sound a bit like Hitlers brownshirts to me. A less organised, African version if you like. This might be our saving grace compared to the hard line, rigid and disciplined German youth.

First time I’ve ever had a post not posted….hmm, wish I could remember what I wrote. Was it racist or rational now? Either one can be equally offensive, I guess.

Of course there’s always some chance I was thoughtlessly being hugely offensive but I doubt it’s worse than some of the stuff I’ve seen of late…

run away, run away, the ANCYL brownshirts are coming!

The ANCYL have always said loud and obnoxious things – that’s why the ANC keeps them around.

The Klu Klux Klan are a highly organised, disciplined, racist group. They are still active.
The ANCYL are highly organised – stop. They are a gang of undisciplined, infantile, illiterate wannabees for the Cookie Jar.
The Hitler Jugen was organised on militaristic discipline. They never spoke “out of context.” They were a tightly disciplined, brainwashed youth, unleashed on Jewish citizens. They were the target and the Youth did not run amok or damage and loot other properties.
The ANCYL are exceptionally dangerous and Zuma is going to live to regret their support. I will not give a definition of the ANCYL – they do that adequately on their own.
They will regret idolizing Zuma – just as Hitler Jugen regretted their obedience to a “Father” who then discarded them in the new Nazi- Regime. They had become redundant.
That is the time when ANCYL will be at their most dangerous. Cosatu will be ignored to Zuma’s peril.

Run away run away? No. That’s not my style. More like fight them with the SAHRC (who also makes a lot of noise and not much else) and with letters to your friendly local opposition party (who needs the public confidence and support to take more action) and arm yourself just in case. The ANCYL brown shirts may be impotent, who only ‘open their mouths to change feet’ but they need to stay that way.

    @Lyndall
Thanks. The comments take a while (usually a day or so) for the M&G minister of propaganda to approve them for public consumption. They won’t disappear in a day or two. During this period you may consider them as POW. After about two days, you may count your comments as MIA and likely to stay that way.

    @Craig
    That’s really funny…

Back on topic: Recent developments in the Obama campaign trail seems to indicate that he does not really intend to change the course of the Titanic. Just like Zuma, he is promising lots of ponies and rainbows but at the end of the day Zuma cares about Zuma, Obama cares about Obama and we should take a hint and follow suit.

It appears that Mr isMail laGuardian is right: a single presidency is not going to sink the Titanic. Bubba Bush has proved that two presidencies are not enough to sink the Titanic either.

As an aside, I would greatly appreciate Mr laGuardian’s opinion as a political economist on Ron Paul, aka Dr No? Maybe in a future blog post.

The Klan is not one group. There are many idependent Klans. They promote the interests of white people and Christian culture. Some of the Klans are international and have affiliations in europe and eslewhere. It is a brotherhood of white Christians. They are damn fine people and active in charity.

To even group them with the likes of the ANCYL is offensive in the extreme. The ANC is a party after power. The Klan is a defensive organistion to promote white rights against the onslaught whites are facing, and the decay oc Christian moral values.

In fact the Klan even contains some fine decent older ladies like yourself.

The ones who call others ‘hate groups’ are often the biggest haters themselves.

I am really glad to see you back again. I missed your comments.
Okay, thanks for the info about charity work. I have been ‘mis’-informed by programs on TV that are very uncomplimentary. Their penchant for hanging black people was repugnant but that has, thankfully, ceased.
I did say that KKK are organised, meaning they obey the movements rules.
The ANCYL certainly are not. They are, therefore, more dangerous, as they do not conform to specific norms.
This young man is demented and I am concerned as to where he is heading with his attitude that is out of control.

    Eliminate anti-Zuma elements – Malema
    July 14 2008 at 07:11AM
Remnants of the counter-revolution, including the Democratic Alliance, and those opposed to Jacob Zuma becoming South Africa’s next president must be eliminated, says ANC Youth League President Julius Malema.

“We must … intensify the struggle to eliminate the remnants of counter-revolution, which include the DA and a loose coalition of those who want to use state power to block the ANC president’s ascendancy to the highest office of the land,” he said on Sunday.

Malema was speaking at the funeral of former ANCYL Free State secretary Thabo “Skotch” Moeketsi in Vredefort.

Of course the media would misinform. Look at who owns the media. Even in the past when lynchings took place, the numbers were very few and it was in response to extreme violence against a helpless white person. Look at the gratuitous violence against whites to day. So where is the real hate?

The new Klan distances itself from gratuitous violence and members are expelled for promoting violence or any illegal activity.

I will borrow from the writings of one group:

“The “political correct” government is telling people the Klan is nothing more than a terrorist group, a hate group and a violent group. Here we are, proud white people struggling to survive, sworn to uphold and defend the constitution, and to honor Jesus Christ and His teachings, and they call us bad. Go figure. ”

But go have a look yourself:

    http://www.unskkkk.com/

You will be suprised to find decent Christian people, with families, children and grandchildren, businessmen lawyers etc.

It seems like the PC liberals love to hate those that promote conservative white values.

You know, people like Ismael and PC liberals love to run down ‘racist’ groups. They say who gives a crap, they are lunatic fringe groups with no following etc.

Why our memberships over 150 000 in his nation alone, never mind readership and symphateic non-members?

Well if pro-white groups are so looney with no following, why dont they leave us alone? Why do they spend so much energy on trying to bash us with name calling?

Well Ismael has it wrong. He tries to make out these groups are violent and dangerous. Bu inside he knows these groups dont promote violence. It is their ideas that are dangerous. Afterall, what is more logical than the idea of supporting and loving your own?

If we are so toxic, why is he afraid? Surely we would repel. But he knows that those that love the white race are not toxic at all. In fact they must be silenced, either by ridicule or prosecution. Its tough being a PC liberal fascist.

You are aware that “race”, as you so loving bang on about, is an entirely social constructed figment right? There is no scientific basis for ‘your own’.
In which case, your ideas are dangerous. Although for the time being, you do not espouse violence, you do consider yourself superior to these “other groups” (if not, then why preserve the mythical White Race?). Once you have that, it won’t be long before you will feel that you are under threat from these lesser peoples and want to defend “your own”. Sure you might start with simple leaflets and what-not, but how long before you start fire-bombing churches, again?

I have covered the scientific basis of race many times. Check Christie’s thread on racists. Genetic differences are significant, and express themselves culturally as well as physically. This we are one race has been refuted time and time again.

If you want to be apart, how can you be superior?

    Try this:

There is nothing in the title your web fascist will block. Maybe it will answer why protect our own. I also linl you scientific sites if you are into DNA and things like that, but I posted it on Christies blog.

consulting engineer, you should try some real science some time. Searching for things that reinforce your prejudices is not science. In science you have to accept whatever results come out. You can’t bend things to fit. I know it tears your ilk apart, but – sorry, china – “your own” genes and those you despise are the same.

You assign to much weight to science, which after
all was derived scientia, knowledge.Even in the
evolution theory scientist use the words ‘could’
indicating that something had the ability to
    evolve into something else.

But the fact that something has the the ability
does not imply that it did,so sorry China
