Why are South Africans so good at doing bad things together, but not good things? A lot of people like to say “the rainbow nation is dead, we can never get on”. But every day people are proving that fact wrong. White and black policemen working together, manning the machine guns like brothers, mowing down striking miners. Corrupt business leaders of every hue work together to steal from their fellow citizens. While black and white members of the government turn the other way (probably for a few bucks in the back pocket). Our ability to get on when it comes to crime and despair is amazing. So why can’t we turn that co-operation into a positive force? Do stuff together that makes the world/our country a better place?
I was going to write a second paragraph but it would just be a repeat of the above.

Nice one David, succint and to the point, to state the obvious. Yes, it is amazing at how adept some Saffers are when it comes to teamwork in the world of corruption, violence and self-gain.
If the baddies put half the effort they put into their various crimes, into working for good, we’d have a great, productive country and an expanding economy!
There are millions of wonderful ordinary South Africans of all races, supporting various political parties, all working together to create a better future, and a couple of thousand incompetent, useless greedy individuals appointed to positions of power standing in their way.
Good leadership is all it will take to change the course of this be-leagued nation, the will of the people already exists.
Well said, David. Evidence of this is how we`ve all relegated ourselves back into our holes as soon as a call for positivity is made. Post any anti-government, anti-white or everbody`s favourite (can`t even bear to say it) and see the flood of exitement from the usual suspects
Good article David. One can say the same things here in America. I live in Houma, Louisiana and we’re having the same problems. Just the other day, in LaPlace right outside of New Orleans two police officers were ambushed and the culprits turned out to be both black and white. If people can unite for bad, why is it so hard to unite for good. I am black American and I am pulling for South Africa. I was appalled at what I saw on television. I hope South Africa can find a way to deal with the poverty and inequality in their society. We have the same problems here in America.
The Proteas are doing really well right now . Which is excellent. But then the dizzyy heights of international cricket are so far removed from the cut and thrust of life on the ground where survival and strife is the name of the game for the vast majority of our beleaguered citizens.
