The Broccoli Project is training people like animals to respond to rewards – like Pavlov’s dogs.

It is NOT treating them with dignity.

The Broccoli Project absolutely is “teaching people to fish” metaphorically speaking.

It’s empowering people to take better care of themselves and changing the way they engage with the few opportunities they have, thus creating more opportunities.

And I love the way we can all get involved. I really hope that we’ll be hearing more of this project soon, on the streets and in the dorpies of SA.

whats patronizing and nauseating about it?
seems to be advocating social responsibility via a rewards mechanism, everything we do in life is for rewards.. e.g. do something good for someone and you are rewarded with a feel good factor, do work for someone and you are rewarded with money, do a better job and be rewarded with a bonus

How the West wastes money on patronising schemes which do not “teach a man to fish”

And how the NGOs justify their own inflated salaries.

And how they like patting themselves on the back.

Luckily they are not all like that.
